Student cost associated with this activity: $10 deposit for fall, winter, or spring block. The deposit is refundable once the student spends five hours in the homework class during a block.

Attach a tentative schedule of activities, events, performances, or games with dates, times, and places if possible: Tutoring will take place in the Homework Class Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday held in the library. Those desiring tutoring must arrive between 3-3:30 pm unless otherwise arranged with a specific tutor. Tutors will stay as late as needed, but if no students have arrived for tutoring by 3:30 pm, the tutors are permitted to leave. Tutoring may also be scheduled with an individual tutor to fit any schedule. Training for tutors will be held in Mr. Nielsen’s room for those who have paid their deposits. All trainings are during lunch and will be announced as needed.

Additional information considered important regarding this event:

Academic Probation- Hours spent with a tutor are equivalent to those spent in the Homework Class with regard to the Academic Probation program. This is true whether the tutoring takes place in the Homework Class or not.


Confidentiality- All information concerning students being tutoring, including names and classes, is completely confidential. The tutor training incorporates confidentiality. Tutors are instructed never to speak of the students they tutor except with a teacher, administrator, or the student tutoring coordinator.
